Jay Verle Duerden, Chairman
Verle Duerden received his BA degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University. While going to school, Verle worked as a river guide in the Grand Canyon each summer. In 1978, he purchased the Idaho operation of the company that he worked for and has been operating wilderness rafting trips since that time. Verle also is the General Partner of Fish Lake Resorts Associates which owns and operates Fish Lake Resort and Lakeside Resort in Central Utah. Verle and his wife, Regan, are the parents of 7 children.
Kyle W. Tresner, Executive Director
With more than 18 years experience working in various capacities for several different youth organizations, Kyle has shown a passion for working with young people. He has served continuously as a leader in Boy Scouts of America since 1990 and has been employed by companies and organizations that serve youth such as Youth Quest, Especially for Youth, Youth Developmental Enterprises and Discovery Academy. He received his bachelors degree in Secondary Education and his Utah Teaching Certification from Brigham Young University and taught school in the Alpine School District for two years. He was employed for nearly 9 years as a fund raiser for BYU. He also currently serves on the board of the Cairn Academy, a school for troubled youth and as President of the Cherry Hill Elementary Community Council. Kyle and his wife, Lara, are the parents of 5 little girls.
Mathew Duerden, Director
Mathew received his bachelor's degree in 2004 and his master's degree in 2006 from BYU. He is currently a doctoral candidate in youth development at Texas A&M University. Prior to his graduation in 2004, Mathew was the primary organizer and first camp director of Camp WILD. He continued as director for the next two years and served as primary liaison between the WILD project and professors at BYU. Mathew and his wife, Chenae, are the proud parents of Jackson who is currently the one who rules their home.
Mark Widmer,PhD, Director
Professor and Therapeutic Recreation Program Director in the Department of Recreation Management and Youth Leadership at Brigham Young University. He also serves as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Leisure Research and the Therapeutic Recreation Journal.
Roger E. Woolsey, Director
CEO of Houston-based Million Air, one of the largest fixed-based operations (FBO) chains in the world, providing upscale, private aviation services to individuals and corporations. The Million Air chain FBO operators provide aircraft charter, fuel, support services and maintenance though 34 separate franchises strategically located across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. Roger has more than 21 years of aviation industry experience and has been recognized and honored numerous times by many prestigious publications and industry stake holders. He has been a frequent guest of the White House and is an alumnus of the Harvard Executive Business School Program. Roger and his wife, Carol, and the parents of 4 children.
